Each of our cabins is named after a local mountain, and each has its own unique character. You can locate them on the Randall Glen Bird's-Eye map .
Leetop
Number 3 on the Bird's-Eye Map
The highest of all our cabins, Leetop perches on the mountainside at over 3500 feet. With mossy boulders and Rhododendrons behind it, Leetop commands a panoramic mountain view to the front and sides. Sam's Gap and Haywood Gap afford beautiful sunsets to your screened porch, while your front porch looks out on Wilson Ridge, Big Sandy Mush Bald, and Little Sandy Mush Bald. Leetop has two bedrooms, a spacious sleeping loft, and two baths, and comfortably sleeps up to 8.
High Hickory
Number 4 on the Bird's-Eye Map
Named for High Hickory Mountain, this cabin is also shaded by tall hickory trees. At 3500 feet, the mountainside falls away from your front porch while you look out at a full mountain panorama. You'll see the dawn light up Little Sandy Mush Bald and Wilson Ridge, while the sun sets dramatically behind Haywood Gap. High Hickory is backed by a natural amphitheater with enormous mossy boulders sheeted with water from a small spring. This one bedroom cabin has a big sleeping loft reached by a spiral staircase, and sleeps up to 6.

Pinnacle
Number 5 on the Bird's-Eye Map
Pinnacle stands high in a clearing of its own, with the mountainside falling steeply away in front. You'll look out at mountains on every side, with Sam's Gap and Haywood Gap to the west and Big Sandy Mush Bald, Wilson Ridge, and Little Sandy Mush Bald from your front porch. To the east are Boyd Cove and Robinson Cove Ridges, with the drama of sunrise lighting up the mountains before you. Pinnacle has two bedrooms and a large sleeping loft with baths upstairs and down, sleeps up to 8, and is handicapped accessible.
Dunsmore
Number 6 on the Bird's-Eye Map
Dunsmore has glorious views everywhere you look. Below you are the horses in the rolling Homesite Pasture filled with wildflowers. Ahead is beautiful Wilson Ridge, Boyd Cove Ridge, and Little Sandy Mush Bald. To the east you'll see the dawn over Robinson Cove Ridge, and to the west the sun setting behind Haywood Gap. Dunsmore has one bedroom and a big sleeping loft reached by a spiral stair, and sleeps up to 6. Shaded by tall trees in summer and sunlit in winter, this is a cozy home any time of year, and is designed as a low allergin environment.
Fox Bark
Number 7 on the Bird's-Eye Map
Set in trees festooned with ancient wild grape vines, Fox Bark looks out at Wilson Ridge from your front porch, Sam's Gap and Haywood Gap to the side for colorful sunsets. Fox Bark also overlooks the horses grazing in lush Haywood Pasture. Next to your cabin are the remains of settlers' dry-stacked stone walls, and in the fall clusters of wild grapes are dropping for a woodland snack. Fox Bark has one bedroom and a spiral staircase to the roomy sleeping loft, and sleeps up to 6. It's outfitted for hospitality to pets and has a large fenced area.
Newfound
Number 8 on the Bird's-Eye Map
Newfound has a 180-degree view, from Sam's Gap and Haywood Gap to the west, Wilson Ridge and Little Sandy Mush Bald from your front porch, and the ridges of Boyd Cove and Robinson Cove to the east. You'll also have the company of horses grazing in the nearby Haywood Pasture. Set just above the Games Lawn and looking out on its rolling meadow, Newfound is particularly well suited for younger children and from the front porch parents can watch older kids at play. Newfound has two bedrooms, a large sleeping loft, and baths upstairs and downstairs. It comfortably sleeps up to 8.
Grassy Cove
Number 9 on the Bird's-Eye Map
Grassy Cove has a fine mountain view of Robinson Cove Ridge, Boyd Cove Ridge, Little Sandy Mush Bald, and Wilson Ridge. From your porch you're also looking out at the horses grazing on the Homesite Pasture. Grassy Cove sleeps up to 8 with its two bedrooms, big sleeping loft, and baths upstairs and down, and is designed with younger children in mind. It's just above the Games Lawn so parents can watch their kids from the porch, and it's the closest cabin to the footpath to the Barnhouse. Set in a stand of Black Walnuts, you can gather a bounty in the fall. You'll also love the huge stone steps that lead to your cabin.
Shining Rock
Number 10 on the Bird's-Eye Map
Shining Rock is our most secluded cabin. Hidden away beyond the others, it's far from the neighbors and no cabins overlook it. A magnificent stairway of our Randall Glen stones winds down to your cabin, which has a view below of the horses and wildflowers on the Homesite Pasture. From your porch you look out at Wilson Ridge, Boyd Cove Ridge, and Little Sandy Mush Bald, sunsets behind Haywood Gap, and sunrise over Robinson Cove Ridge. Shining Rock has one bedroom and a large sleeping loft reached by a spiral staircase. It sleeps up to 6, but it's also perfect for a romantic getaway for two.
We ask that our guests be considerate of others. We have a strict no smoking policy in every cabin. |
