Cabin Reservations
Reservations can be made online at www.RandallGlen.com 24 hours a day or by calling our office at 828-683-5758. Normal office hours are Monday through Saturday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
In June and July there is Saturday and Sunday check-in only. In these months please schedule your visit to begin on one of these days. This requirement may be waived for last minute reservations only. Please call the office for availability.
RATES
Rates vary by season as shown on our website. Prices quoted may be subject to change without notice. Taxes, as required by North Carolina and Buncombe County, will be charged in addition to the rental rate. These include Sales and Use tax on all rents and fees for goods and services charged to guests and the applicable local Occupancy Tax. Taxes are subject to change and amounts may be added to your total or subtracted from your total, without prior notice, based on changes which occur in North Carolina tax rates.
MINIMUM STAY
We have a five night minimum for the months of June and July as well as for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. There is a three night minimum at all other times. This requirement may be waived for last minute reservations only. Please call the office for availability.
PAYMENT AND DEPOSIT
In order to confirm your reservation, a deposit equal to 50% of the total rate must be received when reservations are made. Payment in full must be received at least 45 days prior to the date of arrival. If the reservation is made less than 45 days before arrival, payment in full must be made at the time the reservation is made.
A confirmation and Lease/Vacation Rental Agreement will be emailed or mailed to you after the reservation is made. These documents will detail policies and due dates and are to be initialed, signed and returned to Randall Glen. RECEIPT OF A SIGNED VACATION RENTAL AGREEMENT WILL BE REQUIRED PRIOR TO YOUR ARRIVAL AT THE PROPERTY. Randall Glen reserves the right to cancel your reservation without receipt of this document.
Online bookings require your acceptance of the Vacation Rental Agreement in lieu of signing a lease. At the time of your booking, one-half of the vacation cost will be billed on your credit card (Visa or MC). 45 days prior to your arrival, your credit card will be billed for the remaining balance unless you make other payment arrangements with us.
CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
Your deposit is refundable, less a $75 cancellation fee, only with written cancellation at least 45 days prior to arrival date. Without 45 days notice, deposits are only refundable if the cabin is re-rented. Otherwise, this reservation and all payments made are non-refundable and noncancellable. We strongly encourage our guests to purchase Trip Protection Insurance to cover illness, accidents, certain military situations and certain job loss situations which would prevent your staying at the property.
In the event of a cancellation of a confirmed rental with less than 30 days’ notice for any reason, Randall Glen must be notified immediately and will make every reasonable effort to re-rent the property. If the cabin is re-rented for the original Vacation Rental Agreement amount, you will receive a refund of the advance rental payment less a $75 cancellation fee plus tax. If it is re-rented for less than the original rate, you will receive the balance of the advance rental payment less $75 cancellation fee plus tax and less the difference from the original rate.
Early Departure: There will be no refund for early departures.
Severe Weather: There will be no refund in the event of severe weather affecting your arrival, stay or departure.
SECURITY DEPOSIT
In lieu of a security deposit, your signing the Vacation Rental Agreement warrants that you will leave the property in the condition agreed upon and gives Randall Glen permission to charge your credit card to correct any violations. All credit card information will be securely disposed of at the end of your Rental Agreement period.
CHECK-IN
Two weeks prior to your arrival and after payment has been made in full you will be emailed driving directions and other information for your arrival. If you do not receive these, please email or phone our office and they will be resent.
Check-In is between 4 PM and 8 PM. Our cleaners need time to prepare the cabin and may not be interrupted with any request to unload suitcases, look at the property etc. You may not arrive early for any reason unless you have notified us of Early Check-In (2 PM) and paid the Early Check-In fee of $50 at the time your reservation is made.
If you plan to arrive later than 8 PM you must notify us and pay the Late Check-In fee of $50 at the time your reservation is made, as this necessitates staff staying up to await your arrival. It is strongly recommended in any case that you arrive before dark. Driving in the dark on unfamiliar mountain roads is challenging for any driver and frightening for some. If, due to circumstances beyond your control, you find that your arrival will be late, please notify the office at 828-683-5758 immediately so that arrangements can be made to meet you on arrival.
Also, for your convenience it is highly recommended that you fill up your car with gas and stop at a grocery store for provisions before your arrival. Basic groceries are available here at the Guest Center, but the nearest supermarket is approximately 30 minutes away and you will find your arrival most pleasant if you have everything you need without going back out to shop.
CHECK-OUT
Check-out time is 11 AM. This is important in order for our housekeeping staff to prepare for our next guests. Failure to depart by 11 AM will result in a $50 penalty charged to your credit card on file. Any furniture moved must be replaced to original position before departure. Upon leaving, close all windows and doors; run the dishwasher with any dirty dishes; empty the refrigerator and take all food along with you; place all trash into plastic garbage bags and into outside garbage cans with the lids tightly secured. Place all used towels in the bathtub and leave the beds used during your stay unmade. Take down the Aerobed, if you used it, and replace it in the duffle. Set the air conditioner at 75, or the heat at 65. Check carefully for all your possessions. Leave the doors unlocked and return the key to the office. Notify the office if there is anything broken, missing, not working, or otherwise in need of attention.
If your home requires extra cleaning because you did not follow the above guidelines, you will be charged up to $75 additional cleaning fee. Lost keys or keys not returned will incur a replacement charge of $65. You will be billed full replacement value of any towels, sheets, or other furnishings missing from the property after your departure as well as for any damages. Your signing the Vacation Rental Agreement gives Randall Glen permission to charge your credit card on file.
LOCATION
Randall Glen is located approximately 15 miles northwest of Asheville, on a mountain above the historic farming valley of Big Sandy Mush. While Asheville is within a 35-minute drive, Randall Glen is located in a pristine wilderness area and is part of the Pisgah National Forest. There is no commercial development at all in Big Sandy Mush—no stores, commercial strips, or gas stations. For your convenience, the Randall Glen website provides MapQuest to assist you in calculating location and distance to area attractions, and of course our staff is always ready to help with directions as well.
SMOKING IS PROHIBITED
A $150 penalty will be charged to guest credit card on file if smoking is detected after your departure.
FURNISHINGS AND EQUIPMENT
Our cabins are furnished for normal housekeeping with bed linens, towels, dishes, cookware, flatware, glasses, grills, and kitchen appliances. For fire safety, please use grills in designated areas only and never on the porches, making sure charcoal is out after usage. Toilet paper, paper towels, hand and bath soap, garbage bags, dishwashing soap, and dishwashing detergent will be at the cabin. The coffee maker has a permanent filter. Firewood is provided. Please be sure to pack any specialty items that you may require during your stay. Porta-cribs, high chairs, mountain bikes, and outdoor equipment may be rented locally.
The Games Barn and Fitness Center are located on the 3 acre Games Lawn, just below the cabins.
