From the horseback riding, playing in the creek, feeding and hanging out with animals, hiking and just relaxing – perfect vacation. Randall Glen had everything we would want. Folks tell us we make the best barbecue they ever tasted. We think you all agree.

We make our own marinade. We make our own rub. We make our own sauce. We smoke with hickory that we cut right here on our mountain. We slow smoke our pork shoulders for 16 hours, then pull them by hand. Our Pulled Pork Sandwich has a quarter pound of perfect barbecued pork on a big gourmet bun, topped with our famous hand made Blue Ridge Barbecue sauce and cole slaw made with our own secret recipe.

Our favorite! Sugar snap peas!

There’s nothing like the sweet crunch of a sugar snap, and if you’ve never had this eat-it-pod-and-all pea you’re in for a treat. All through the early summer we’re making sugar snap specials—lightly steamed with dipping sauce, in a chilled rice-and-vegetable salad, paired with our homegrown lettuce mix, and in a fresh garden stir fry.

We make our ice cream with milk and cream from our Jersey cows.

There’s no cream so rich as Jersey, and it makes incredible ice cream! We make a custard style ice cream using eggs from our free range hens and the best ingredients. Try our decadently rich French Vanilla, our dark Double Chocolate, cinnamon-wafted Cappuccino, or chocolate-and-black cherry Black Forest. Watch for our seasonal flavors like fresh Peaches and Cream, Strawberry made with berries grown right here in Big Sandy Mush, Blackberry or Black Raspberry picked here on our mountain. And how about the classics—Butter Pecan made with pecans that we butter toast by hand, or Rum Raisin, with plump golden raisins steeped in dark rum? Then there’s the world of Sundae Cups, with delectable treats layered with our French Vanilla and Double Chocolate…Death by Chocolate, with homemade fudge, Ghirardelli chocolate, and M and Ms…Pralines and Cream, with homemade caramel and toasted pecans…Moose Droppings with roasted almonds and homemade fudge…Snickers with roasted peanuts, homemade fudge and caramel…or Turtle, with homemade fudge and caramel, and butter toasted pecans. And each Sundae Cup is piled high with whipped cream. You’ve never tasted a sundae like this!

Classic scones with clotted cream and local jam!

This is one of the most “special” of our Specials, straight out of an English teatime! A homemade cream scone with local preserves and real Devonshire style clotted cream from our own Jersey cows…you’ve never tasted anything so good.

Our Baby Back Ribs are glazed with our famous Blue Ridge Barbecue Sauce.

We hickory smoke our Baby Back Ribs to fall-apart perfection and baste them with our hand made Blue Ridge Barbecue Sauce. Four generations of our family have savored this knockout sauce. It’s tangy with tomato and vinegar, sweet with brown sugar, a bit spicy with fresh garlic and the right touch of red pepper. We still make it up in small, open kettle batches, just like 50 years ago.
